Stockholm based graffiti artist Johan A. Wattberg started painting at an early age, and had his first show at the tender age of fourteen!
Several years and numerous shows later, the artist presented us with an eclectic mix of bold and beautiful canvases.
Johan takes inspiration from his surroundings and has, over the years, created a personal style which relates to city life, personal experiences and at times satirical and political. Johan works a lot with portraiture, often including friends into his paintings, and was even commissioned to paint 31 portraits of Borje Salming, aka ‘The King’, one of Swedens (and NHLs ) most famous ice hockey players.
The sports icon agreed to be part of the project after seeing Wattberg’s portraits of Swedish singer and actor Regina Lund. Ten of the canvases, shown in Stockholm, sold within an hour of their release!
